1ºESO-Vocabulary



It is Friday! We are going to work studying vocabulary today.

Participial adjectives: -ING/-ED ADJECTIVES
  • Adjectives which end with –ed describe how we are feeling.
  • Look at the examples below.
I am tired.
Sheila was bored.
Brad was frightened.
They are relaxed.
I was terrified.
  • Adjectives which end with –ing describe how things make us feel.
  • Look at the examples below.
The work was tiring.
The lesson was boring.
The film was frightening.
The holiday was relaxing.
The rollercoaster was terrifying.

Por lo tanto, los adjetivos en -ing son los que nos hablan de una característica de algo o de alguien. Ejemplo:
That film is boring.
Los adjetivos terminados en -ed son los que nos describen un estado.
Ejemplo:
He is very frightened today.
